We best demonstrate the love of God when we give, serve, and love “the one”— both in our community and around the world. When we choose to love “the one” and meet a need, it opens doors for God to transform our hearts and those we impact.

Founded by our very own Paul and Bettina Stevens, Reclaimed Hope Initiative is a support and advocacy organization that provides support and connection to foster, adoptive, and special needs families.

Needs:

  • Kids food sign up for Thrive

  • Family Support Volunteers to support families during hardship (errands, laundry, meals, etc)

  • Activity preparation for kids events

  • Childcare volunteers for our monthly respite nights 

  • Camp Hope volunteers in a variety of capacities, not all child facing.

The Tyson’s are missionaries in Nepal serving through two organizations: Love Justice International and Beauty for Ashes Nepal.

Needs:

  • Write an encouraging note or prayer for the Tyson’s. Email your note to info@cornerstonecommunity.tv.

  • Set aside a day and time to pray for the Tyson’s regularly.

  • Consider supporting the Tyson’s as a giving partner!

Greenbrier Elementary School is located in the city of Charlottesville, and we partnering with them to help support teachers, staff, and school families


Needs:

Needs: Purchase individually wrapped snacks and contact Joy to deliver them to the school for students who are in need.

 

International Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization that works to equip refugee neighbors with the network and skills needed to move from surviving to thriving In Charlottesville.

Needs:

Love INC links people in need to volunteers from a network of area churches. Their mission is to transform lives and communities, In the Name of Christ.

Meals on Wheels of Charlottesville/Albemarle is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver hot, nutritious meals to the ill, aging, and convalescing residents of the Charlottesville area who find it difficult or impossible to prepare meals for themselves.

Needs:

Gather needed supplies: dry dog or cat food, travel size toiletries, and plastic grocery bags.

  • Make uplifting cards to be delivered with clients’ food.

  • Deliver to Meals on Wheels (704 Rose Hill Drive Charlottesville, VA).

YoungLife is a ministry that introduces teenagers to Jesus Christ and helps them grow in their faith. ​YoungLives is a part of YoungLife that specifically ministers to and provides mentors and support for local teenage mothers and their children.

The Haven is a multi-resource day shelter in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia that endeavors to end homelessness in the greater Charlottesville community.

Needs:

  • Gather items needed for the day shelter or the kitchen.

  • Follow these directions to deliver to The Haven (112 West Market Street Charlottesville

 
 

PACEM is a grassroots organization that coordinates space and volunteers to provide shelter for individuals in our community who are homeless.

Needs:

  • Go here to find ways that you can donate items or your time to help our local homeless population.

Other Ways to extravagantly love and serve others…

  • Call an elderly friend, family member, or neighbor just to say hello.

  • Write a thank-you email to your children’s teachers.

  • Go through a drive-through and pay for the person behind you.

  • Take a walk through your neighborhood and pick up trash.

  • Rake the leaves of an elderly neighbor.

  • Write a thank-you note to someone who has impacted your life.

  • Send an encouraging text to five people that you know.

  • Leave a note or gift for your mail delivery person.

  • Deliver something delicious to your nearest fire station.

  • Send a letter or care package to a soldier.

  • Post five uplifting comments on social media.

  • Have an inspiring or fun book shipped to someone you know.

  • Go on a prayer walk.  Walk around your neighborhood and pray for each person as you pass his house.

  • Make bags to keep in your car and give to homeless people that you see.  Fill them with water, healthy and filling snacks, and hygiene items.
