Message Notes Sunday, February 19th
Scripture:
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!” Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: “Passion for God’s house will consume me.”
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
NOTES
In order to forget you’re hungry, you’ve got to keep busy.
Distractions can keep us from the seeking God first.
Junk food will leave you even more empty.
Only God truly satisfies.
Scarce eating means you can’t handle rich foods.
We can’t handle the deeper things of God if we don’t regularly dine at His table.
In the end, I lost.
If we don’t do it daily, we lose.
Distractions are going to happen, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.
Don’t settle for spiritual junk food, or lousy stuff to meet a need that only God can fill.
Make your relationship with Him a priority, go deeper.
Exercise your faith.
When we are full, we will share. Charlottesville needs that freshly spoken word of God, revealed through you.
